November Donations

November Donations

**A note about this month's donations:

In light of the recent government shutdown and the broader policy shifts under President Trump, we are choosing to repeat our donations this month to our local food bank to help support our community members who are increasingly vulnerable to food insecurity. While the shutdown has disrupted many essential services, what is most troublesome is how the Trump administration has also moved to restrict and cut SNAP -- a program that feeds millions in need.

This disruption means that families working to get by, parents caring for children, older adults, veterans, and people with disabilities will face empty pantries, tough choices between bills and groceries, and the uncertainty of not knowing where their next meal will come from.

Our local food banks will bear the brunt of this cruel and inhumane decision, stepping up where the government has stepped back, and are more important than ever.

If you’re able, I encourage you to reach out to your local food bank: donate non-perishable food items, provide financial support, volunteer your time, or raise awareness. Every effort counts -- because when national programs falter, grassroots support becomes a lifeline for our neighbors.

Supporting the South Corvallis Food Bank This November

At Borrowed Leather Goods, community is at the heart of everything we do. Each month, we donate 10% of our profits to an organization that’s making a meaningful difference -- and for the month of November, we’re proud to support the South Corvallis Food Bank.

Meeting Needs, Building Dignity

The South Corvallis Food Bank has been serving our neighbors for over a decade, providing essential food assistance to individuals and families facing hunger. But their mission goes beyond just filling shelves -- they create a welcoming, dignified space where people from all walks of life can find support, nourishment, and hope.

With a focus on fresh produce, culturally appropriate ingredients, and personal choice, the South Corvallis Food Bank empowers people to select the foods that best meet their needs. It’s not just about sustenance -- it’s about respect, community, and humanity.

Why We Give

We believe everyone should have access to nutritious food, no matter their circumstances. The South Corvallis Food Bank shares that belief, and they show up week after week to make it a reality. Whether it’s helping a family stretch their budget, supporting seniors living on fixed incomes, or assisting those temporarily out of work, their efforts ripple outward and strengthen our entire community.

At Borrowed Leather Goods, we admire their consistency, compassion, and the local roots they’ve built. Supporting them this month is our way of saying thank you -- for the work they do, the lives they touch, and the resilience they help foster right here at home.
